Direct answers about vehicles, bookings, recurring treatment and practical arrangements.
01
Choosing the right transport
What is the difference between a VSL and an ambulance? +
A VSL carries seated patients who do not need care or monitoring during the journey. An ambulance is suitable in particular for stretcher transport or when more structured monitoring and assistance are required.
Do you transport wheelchair users? +
Yes. We accept all types of wheelchairs and arrange the vehicle and equipment needed for boarding and securing them.
Can you transport someone lying down? +
Yes. Ecovita provides non-emergency ambulance transport for patients who must remain lying down.
Do you help on stairs? +
Yes. State the floor level, whether there is a lift and any access difficulties when booking so we can prepare suitable assistance.
Who can use non-emergency medical transport? +
Anyone whose condition or mobility makes ordinary transport unsuitable may request support. Together we determine whether seated, wheelchair or stretcher transport meets the need.
What is the difference between medical transport and an emergency ambulance? +
Non-emergency medical transport covers planned journeys or situations without an immediate threat to life. For an acute emergency, call 112.
Do you accept electric wheelchairs? +
Yes. State the type, dimensions and weight when requesting transport so we can confirm the appropriate vehicle.
Does the patient need to be able to walk? +
No. We also support patients who cannot walk, whether they use a wheelchair or must travel lying down.
Can you support an older or weakened person? +
Yes. The transport and assistance are adapted to the person’s mobility, comfort and the details supplied when booking.
How do I know whether a VSL or ambulance is needed? +
Describe the patient’s mobility, required position and access at departure and arrival. Our team will guide you to the suitable option, subject to any medical instructions.
